Sharpen Up was founded in mid 2023 by Bronwyn Wilson, a career Human Resources professional, Yoga Teacher and Mum to three beautiful sons. Sharpen Up began with the intention of helping people move through the transition of changing job roles, by preparing them to navigate the recruitment process or the transitional phases associated with career change. Typical clients include students preparing to commence work for the first time or on completion of tertiary studies, individuals commencing or returning from parental leave, those transitioning to retirement, people who are changing careers after many years in the same industry/field, or changing companies after a long tenure. Specifically, Sharpen Up’s solutions in this space is in the form of resume creation or update, job application and interview preparation coaching, or career coaching. These services are specifically tailored to the individual. For School and University Students, Group Workshops can be organised via the school or university, to provide groups of students the tools to create their own resume, including the type of information to include when prior work experience is limited or unrelated to their career aspirations, job application and interview tips, including preparing questions to respond to and ask, salary negotiations and other considerations during the recruitment process.
Over time, Sharpen Up expanded to take on generalist Human Resources consulting work for small and medium sized businesses. This work predominantly focuses on assisting businesses with general Human Resources solutions including performance management, position descriptions, on-boarding, interpretation of industrial instruments, policy writing and review, recruitment strategy, talent management and more.
More recently, Sharpen Up has moved into the Corporate Wellness space. Combining 20+ years corporate Human Resources experience with 10+ years of qualified Yoga and Meditation teaching, Sharpen Up founder, Bronwyn Wilson contributes to improved leader and employee performance by providing wellness solutions and stress management techniques that resonate with corporate clientele in an impactful way. Solutions are tailored to suit specific employee group requirements, and can include approaches such as lunchtime yoga and meditation, half and full day workshops, or tailored sessions covering specific topics utilising a mix of wellness approaches.
